On October 1, 2025, the international academic conference "From Afro-Asian Solidarity to Global South Cooperation" opened at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. Jointly organized by Xiamen University and Gadjah Mada University, the conference brought together scholars from over 10 countries.
The opening ceremony featured addresses by Dean Wawan Mas'udi, Dean Gao Yanjie, and Convener Diah Kusumaningrum, who emphasized revitalizing the Bandung Spirit and strengthening Global South cooperation. The two-day event included 13 parallel forums and 3 workshops discussing climate change, BRICS cooperation, and knowledge autonomy.
