The Sino-Malaysian International Institute of Advanced Studies Academic Forum Was Held at Xiamen University

The signing of the letter of intent for cooperation between the Xiamen University and the Institute of Advanced Studies, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Asia-Europe Institute of the University of Malaya.

On March 26, 2025, the China-Malaysia International Higher Education Institute Academic Forum was grandly inaugurated at the Concert Hall of the Science and Art Center, Xiamen University. Co-hosted by Xiamen University and University of Malaya, the forum centered on the theme "Open Integration, Building a Science and Technology Innovation Community," attracting over a hundred representatives from government departments, universities, think tanks, and enterprises of both China and Malaysia. The event highlighted the signing of key cooperation agreements to strengthen transnational academic networks.

During the forum, Professor You Yancheng, Vice President of Xiamen University, representing the School of International Relations/Research School of Southeast Asian Studies, signed letters of intent for collaborative research and student exchanges with the Institute of Advanced Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Asia-Europe Institute of University of Malaya.

Subsequently, Professor Gao Yanjie, Dean of the School, signed memoranda of agreement with institutions including the School of International Relations at Sun Yat-sen University, Socio-Economic Research Centre of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, Sunway University UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network Asia Headquarters, and Malaysian Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research.

The forum concluded with a commitment to advance China-Malaysia regional studies through enhanced talent cultivation, research, and cultural exchanges, fostering long-term collaboration under the framework of open innovation.
