The Asian Economic Panel 2025 Forum was held in Xiamen on March 26-27, 2025, focusing on major challenges in Asia-Pacific economic governance. Co-organized by the School of International Relations/Research School of Southeast Asian Studies of Xiamen University and the journal Asian Economic Papers, the event gathered leading scholars and policymakers from 12 countries, including China, the United States, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The opening ceremony featured addresses from Professor Fang Ying, Vice President of Xiamen University, who emphasized the region's role as a global growth engine, and Professor Woo Wing Thye from the University of Malaya, who highlighted China's contributions through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and RCEP.
Over two days, participants discussed topics such as global industrial chain restructuring, digital economy transformation, and inclusive growth, with more than 30 experts sharing research.
The forum concluded with closing remarks by Associate Professor Zhang Miao, who expressed gratitude and reaffirmed the commitment to academic cooperation. The event served as a vital platform for policy dialogue, strengthening regional ties.
