The ASEAN-China Youth Exchange Camp, held from August 25 to 31, 2024, concluded in the cities of Xiamen and Quanzhou, China. Co-organized by the ASEAN Foundation and Xiamen University, the event was supported by the China-ASEAN Cooperation Fund and the Chinese Mission to ASEAN, with the School of International Relations/Research School for Southeast Asian Studies at Xiamen University serving as the primary organizers. The camp aimed to deepen cultural exchanges, enhance mutual understanding, and foster lasting friendships among youth from China and ASEAN member states.
Throughout the week-long program, participants engaged in a variety of activities, including expert lectures, roundtable discussions, visits to leading digital enterprises, and immersive cultural experiences. These activities were designed to broaden participants' international perspectives and strengthen their understanding of the digital economy, a key area of collaboration between China and ASEAN.
The exchange camp holds significant importance in promoting cultural dialogue and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. By equipping young participants with knowledge and fostering connections, the program is expected to contribute to future collaboration in the digital economy and beyond.
The conclusion of the ASEAN-China Youth Exchange Camp has laid a strong foundation for further youth exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. It is anticipated that the participating youth will play a pivotal role in advancing regional development and international collaboration, particularly in the fast-evolving digital economy and the broader China-ASEAN partnership.
