The Publications Unit of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies has published almost 2,000 scholarly books and journals since 1972. It focuses on economics, politics, and social issues in Southeast Asia. Co-publication, translation and distribution rights are available.

Michael Leifer Award

ISEAS is proud to announce Mr Kuik Cheng-Chwee as the winner of the 2009 Michael Leifer Memorial Prize, for his article, ÒThe Essence of Hedging: Malaysia and Singapore's Response to a Rising ChinaÓ, in Contemporary Southeast Asia 32, no. 2 (2008): 159-85.

The award is given biennially for the best article in any of the three ISEAS journals, ASEAN Economic Bulletin, Contemporary Southeast Asia, and SOJOURN: Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia.
