The ASEAN Youth Camp project involves youth from ASEAN Member Countries in a variety of youth-oriented cultural activities to better appreciate the region’s history and culture and to interact with each other. It is held annually in the different ASEAN Member Countries. This time around the Youth Camp, with a theme of “The Role of Youth in Cultural Heritage”, would be held in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh from 12-24 December 2004. Youth participants from China, Japan and Korea also attend the camp.
The youth selected to attend the camp have the opportunity to participate in workshops and activities ranging from painting, creative writing, singing and dancing and also to immerse themselves in the traditional cultural activities of the host country. The participants would also be able to visit some of the cultural sites such as museums and temples.
The next Youth Camp would be held in Brunei Darussalam in 2005.
