Curriculum Vitae

My research and teaching are about International Relations, conceived largely from a global and historical point of view. On the theoretical side, I am especially interested in IOs and global governance, Chinese security and foreign policy, environmental politics. My descriptive interests are in the changing positions of China, China's relations with ASEAN, and the implications of China's rising as a more powerful country. I love to enjoy the view from the top of a mountain, and this is what drew me to the study of IR. As China is more and more involved in the international arena, more and more Chinese should get to know more and more about the world. It is always fascinating to study, and satisfying to share this fascination with students.
